The E-learning courses are being developed as part of the dissemination and training initiatives in SAFE FOODS. They are based on the latest research results, training material, presentations and scientific publications generated by researchers in this project.
They are meant for professionals in the field, such as risk assessors, risk managers and risk communicators, as well as students, teachers and everyone with an interest in food safety issues.
The E-learning courses are meant to facilitate understanding of key issues and the research activities carried out in SAFE FOODS. They provide a comprehensive state-of-the-art overview of ongoing developments in the area of food safety risk analysis and emerging food risks. A broad range of scientific disciplines is covered, ranging from molecular biology, microbiology, toxicology to probabilistic modelling and the social and political sciences.
The E-learning material is easily accessible in several formats, such as PowerPoint presentations, separate Word documents, text with lots of illustrations and graphs, recommended scientific publications and webcasts of training sessions given by SAFE FOODS experts.
All information available in the course can be used for educational purposes or extracted for personal use as long as the source is referred to.
The online courses will continue to be updated till the completion of the SAFE FOODS project (March 2008) and will remain accessible after that.
